Overview

The QST2002HF Analyzer is an R&D test system for characterizing the performance of Magnetoresistive Heads (HGAs) and Head Stack Assemblies (HSAs) up to magnetic fields as high as 15,000 Oe.

With a unique single magnet configuration and fully-integrated closed-loop control, the QST2002HF can accurately measure Hard and Easy Axis Transfer Curves at extremely high magnetic fields.

The extremely high field range of the QST2002HF allows observation of magnetic sensor characteristics such as pin layer reversal and demagnetization in extreme conditions. The system is capable of resetting the hard magnetic layer at HGA and HSA level by applying extremely high longitudinal magnetic field. Other applications include initialization investigation and environmental robustness.

QST2002HF measurement capability includes Transfer Curve and Resistance analysis, and the most advanced magnetic instability detection system available. These measurements, performed through our proprietary AC measurement channel, include Popcorn Noise, AC Noise, and our patented and industry standard Spectral Maximum Amplitude Noise (SMAN) analysis.

Our proprietary software supports a full array of engineering and production interfaces, data logging, grading, and normalization, and allows for customers to develop their own software modules if so desired.

A small footprint allows the QST2002HF to operate in virtually any environment.  The QST2002HF is compatible with ISI's RIA-2008 and EPS-100 ESD Stress Modules.
